The Brazilian athletes set a new medal record at the Pan American Games, held in Santiago, Chile, between October 20th and November 5th. They won 205 medals. In the medal tally, the country came in second place, only coming after the United States. The previous record had been set in Lima, Peru, in the 2019 Games, when the country won 169 medals.

In this edition, 41 countries competed for medals in 58 different sports. Some of them classified athletes to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, such as boxing, surf, tennis and artistic gymnastics.

Brazil sent 622 athletes to Chile, the largest delegation in Brazilian history. Boxing, artistic gymnastics, rowing, skate, swimming and tae kwon were some of the sports that brought Brazil gold medals. Swimmer Guilherme Costa was the Brazilian who won most medals, with four gold medals.

The Chilean government invested 600 million dollars (around 2,9 billion reais) in infrastructure for the event.
